Privacy policy
Last updated: October 21, 2026
This policy explains which personal data Remove Subtitles collects, why, and what rights you have. It applies to the website removesubtitles.com and the service offered on it.
Who is responsible
The service is operated by Jonas Lismont, Dorneckstrasse 14, 4143 Dornach, Switzerland ("we"). We are responsible for the processing described here, under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, for visitors in the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Data we collect
Account: when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile picture and Google account identifier. We use them only to create and secure your account. We never receive your Google password. If you sign in with a link sent by email instead, we only receive your email address.
Videos: the videos you upload and the subtitle zone you choose, used to process your request and to answer any question or complaint about it.
Payments: the amount, date and status of your purchases and the minutes credited to your account. Card details are entered on Stripe's page and never reach us.
Technical data: your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, kept in our server logs for security and troubleshooting.
How long we keep it
Uploaded videos are kept on our server, in a private space that only we can access, so we can deal with support requests and refunds; you can ask us to delete them at any time. The finished video is kept for 7 days so you can download it, then deleted.
Your account data is kept as long as your account exists. Payment records are kept for 10 years, as required by Swiss accounting law.
Server logs are kept for a limited time, usually a few weeks.
Service providers
Google (Google LLC, USA): sign-in.
fal.ai (Features & Labels Inc., USA): runs the AI model that rebuilds the image. The parts of your video to be processed are sent to fal.ai and handled under their own retention rules.
Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. and affiliates): payment processing.
Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany): hosting of our server.
Some of these providers are located outside Switzerland and the EU, in particular in the USA. Transfers rely on the safeguards these providers offer, such as the Swiss-US and EU-US Data Privacy Frameworks or standard contractual clauses.
Cookies
We only use cookies that are needed for the site to work: one that keeps you signed in, and a short-lived one that secures the Google sign-in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not sell your data.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, object to its processing, or receive a copy of it. To do so, write to the address above. You can also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, in the EU, with the data protection authority of your country.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version; significant changes will be announced on the site.
